In the KWPN’s fall inspection, Rendez-Vous du Chateau left no doubt about his jumping ability. This strongly built stallion excels with his comfortable rideability, balance in canter, and use of his body when jumping. In addition, he combines a high degree of caution with great ability, giving him all the characteristics of a future top show jumper. Genetically speaking, Rendez-Vous du Chateau is very well put together. His sire All Star 5 excelled at the highest level under Denis Lynch and competed in events such as the World Equestrian Games in Caen and the European Championships in Gothenburg and Aachen. All Star is a grandson of Piet Raijmakers’ Grand Prix mare Rinnetou Z and has made a promising start in breeding himself, with his oldest offspring turning five this year. On his dam’s side, Rendez-Vous du Chateau comes from the famous line that also produced Edwina Tops-Alexander’s multiple Grand Prix winner Itôt du Chateau (by Le Tôt de Semilly). Grandmother Comete d’Iscla competed at international level at 1.40m and is a half-sister to no fewer than twelve international show jumpers, including the 1.55/1.60m-rated Vitot du Chateau and Best of Iscla. Comete d’Iscla is also the first of three mares in a row to have performed at a minimum level of 1.40m. In the third generation, this high-performance line goes back to a half-sister of the aforementioned Itôt du Chateau and Oui M’Sieu du Chateau and Sultan du Chateau, who also compete at the highest level. This means that Rendez-Vous du Chateau not only has the natural talent but also the perfect genetic makeup to follow in the footsteps of many successful family members.
